It’s the weekend of the year to explore heritage with the family: Saturday October 21 and Sunday October 22, 55 monuments of the Center des monuments nationaux (CMN) – a network which ensures the conservation and opening to the public of a hundred public monuments – offering 5-12 year olds a special program for the 25th edition of the “Children’s Play Monuments” operation. Games, dance, theater, investigations or magic lessons come, for a weekend, to wake up the stones and learn to look at them better…

► Gastronomic: Château d’Aulteribe (Auvergne/Rhône-Alpes)

A snack at the castle: this is what the local marquise offers during a gourmet and historic afternoon with the family. On this occasion, you will be able to play by creating improbable wedding cakes, travel while listening to the history of the orange, discover the tastes of Louis XIV… A fun moment followed by a snack to share, in the charming atmosphere of a castle remodeled in the 19th century to make it a romantic residence.

► Magic : Château d’Oiron (New Aquitaine)

The magician Mehdi Ouazzani offers children a discovery of the Château d’Oiron punctuated by learning magic tricks adapted to the different rooms of the monument, such as the large painting gallery dating from the 16th century, 55 meters long or the astonishing contemporary collection Curious & Wonderfulinspired by the cabinet of curiosities of one of its illustrious owners, Claude Gouffier, immortalized by Charles Perrault in Puss in Boots in the guise of the Marquis de Carabas…

At the end of the day, the young magicians will present the tricks they have learned to the adults, then leave with their conjurer’s kit.
