The ministry also said that it “discovered devices hidden at the bottom of the ocean that were sending information that could advance the battlefield,” in an article published on its official account on the WeChat application, which is its most popular social media application. China.

The ministry explained, “Some (devices) act as secret agents, drifting and swimming with the waves, and monitoring the situation in our border waters in real time.”
“Others act as underwater beacons, showing the direction of foreign submarines that have invaded our waters,” she said.
Analysts say the submarine arms race between China, the United States and its allies, and Beijing is on track to acquire a new generation of nuclear-armed submarines by the end of this decade.
