Head of the North American and Oceania Affairs Department at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Yang Tao, called on Washington to stop imposing sanctions on Chinese companies under the pretext of the Ukrainian crisis because Beijing is not a party to it.

China Central Television reported Tao’s statements, indicating that the United States must stop imposing unilateral and random sanctions on Chinese companies.

It is noteworthy that the Chinese official’s statements came after the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to China.

He added, “China did nothing to add fuel to the fire or seize the opportunity,” stressing that “China’s position is open and represents promoting peace, negotiations, and political settlement.”

He added: “At the international level, we act in accordance with principles, and the responsibility we must bear will not diminish, but we will not bear the blame, let alone pay, for the actions of others.”

He stressed, “The United States must stop exercising defamation and pressure, and stop randomly imposing unilateral sanctions on Chinese companies.”
