Patna ∙ LJP (Ramvilas) leader Chirag Paswan is likely to leave the NDA. With Nitish Kumar’s return to the NDA, the BJP leadership’s efforts to woo Chirag, who is stalling, are failing. Chirag is preparing to leave the front by creating a riot in the NDA over the division of Lok Sabha seats. Chirag’s move to appoint incumbents in 11 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar is a warning to the BJP.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, LJP won all the 6 seats contested as part of NDA. After the LJP split, five of the MPs sided with Pashupati Paras, leaving Chirag as the sole MP in the party. BJP has offered 3 seats each to both factions without counting the membership strength of the split. In this, Chirag Paswan started campaigning in Hajipur, the sitting seat of Pashupati Paras, which was a problem in the front.

Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Khushwaha’s RLJD joined the NDA, making the division of seats more complicated. Chirag Paswan is creating pressure on NDA by demanding 6 seats again. RJD is also gearing up to bring Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan into the grand alliance.
