John Legend shared earlier this year how his son Miles’ type 1 diabetes diagnosis unexpectedly strengthened their family bond.
“His condition is also building grit in him, and as a family,” the Grammy winner told People, “I think it’s building it in us as well as we are all rallying together to support him.”

And with John being just naturally a “very optimistic” and “very practical” guy, he explained, “as soon as I learned that he had this I knew it was going to be life-changing for him and for us, but I’m also like, ‘We can do this.'”
