Christie’s banned customers from Russia and Belarus from bidding

Auction house Christie’s has banned customers from the Russian Federation and Belarus to participate in their auctions. He also supported a ban on the supply of luxury goods to these countries.

“We fully comply with the export ban on the sale of luxury goods to customers physically located in Russia or Belarus, and on the export (direct or indirect) of luxury goods to any address in Russia or Belarus,” – said the representative of the auction house.

Earlier it was reported that the auction houses Christie’s and Sotheby’s decided to cancel the auction of Russian art in London because of the situation in Ukraine. The auction was supposed to take place in June, they were in demand among Russian collectors. At the same time, Sotheby’s added that they were collecting donations for the victims of the conflict in Ukraine.
