California: Christopher Nolan’s biopic drama Oppenheimer wins awards again. The film won eight awards at the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards, including Best Picture. Known as the father of the atom bomb, J. Nolan won Best Director for the film, which tells the story of Robert Oppenheimer. Robert Brown Jr., who played a negative role in the film, was also selected as the best supporting actor. Paul Giamatti was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in the American comedy-drama The Holdover. Emma Stone won Best Actress for Poor Things. Close behind was Margot Robbie’s fantasy comedy ‘Barbie’ with 6 wins out of a record-breaking 18 nominations, including Best Comedy and Best Original Song. ‘Anatomy of a Foal’ (France) won the Best Foreign Language Film and ‘Lupin’ (France) won the Best Foreign Language TV Series. Succession was adjudged the best TV series in the drama category.
