Mölln Church to Host Screening of “The Piano Player of the Gare du Nord”

A powerful story of redemption through music will be shown at the St. Nicolai Church in Mölln on Friday, October 24, 2025.The Evangelical Lutheran Church Community’s support association is hosting a free cinema screening of the 2018 French-Belgian film drama, offering a unique cultural experience within a historic setting.

The film, “The Piano Player of the Gare du Nord,” directed by Ludovic Bernard, centers on a young man grappling with a troubled past. He possesses an extraordinary musical talent, yet is burdened by a criminal history. The narrative explores his journey as he discovers a new path in life, finding solace and direction through the power of music. The film follows Thomas, a former convict, as he attempts to rebuild his life after being released from prison.He finds work playing piano at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris, where he encounters Lea, a music student who recognizes his talent and offers him guidance.
According to organizers,the film delves into the protagonist’s inner conflicts and self-doubt,which are powerfully expressed through his musical passion. “The Piano Player from Gare du Nord” is ultimately a story about the unifying power of music and the potential for growth that emerges from mutual trust.
