Al-Marsad newspaper: A citizen named Ahmed Al-Sulai’ told the story of not having slept for sixty years, and being satisfied with only 10 minutes during which he fell asleep every day.

Since his birth

Al-Sulai’ said during his conversation with the journalist Musaed Al-Sharari: The phenomenon began with him since birth, that is, more than sixty years ago, explaining that he sleeps daily, but for only 10 minutes, which is called a nap, anywhere and at any time.

He stated that his condition was not discovered due to the lack of medical and health capabilities, saying: I treated this phenomenon as a medical condition when I suffered from severe insomnia.

Indian doctor

He pointed out that he visited a hospital in the Al-Jawf region, and his condition was presented to an Indian doctor at the time, pointing out that the latter insisted on him visiting King Faisal Specialist Hospital, adding: Since 1418, I have been visiting the hospital in the sleep medicine clinic.

Diagnosis of his condition

He explained that the diagnosis of his condition is sleep apnea, the inability of air to reach the lungs, and his need for a medical device called “Sepab,” which helps him sleep for only 10 minutes to half an hour.

He continued that he dreams strange, imaginative, and illogical dreams while sleeping, and concluded his speech by saying: “I wish to sleep. This is my greatest wish for 60 years.”
