Forchheim City Triathlon Celebrates 13th Edition with Sustainability Focus and Open Registration
Table of Contents
Registration is now open for the 13th annual Forchheim City Triathlon, set to take place on June 14th. Organized by the SSV Forchheim, the event welcomes athletes of all ages and skill levels, offering two distinct course options designed to accommodate both beginners and seasoned triathletes.
A Tradition of Endurance Since 2012
The Forchheim City Triathlon has been a fixture in the region since 2012, growing each year thanks to the dedication of numerous volunteers and sponsors. This year’s event builds on that legacy, emphasizing both athletic competition and environmental responsibility. “Just be there…!” is the motto driving organizers to encourage broad participation, from first-time triathletes to experienced competitors.
Two Routes to Challenge Every Athlete
Participants can choose between a fitness distance and a sprint distance, catering to varying levels of experience and fitness. The fitness distance presents a manageable challenge, consisting of a 300-meter swim, a 9-kilometer cycle, and a 2.5-kilometer run. This route is specifically designed for students born in 2014 or later.
For those seeking a more demanding test, the sprint distance features a 500-meter swim, an 18-kilometer cycle, and a 5-kilometer run. This option is open to individual starters aged 2010 or older, as well as relay teams. The competition will begin with a rolling start procedure at the Königsbad outdoor pool.
Commitment to Sustainability and Accessibility
The Forchheim City Triathlon is distinguished by its commitment to sustainability, having earned the sustainability label from the Bavarian Triathlon Association. Organizers are prioritizing environmentally friendly measures and fostering regional partnerships to minimize the event’s ecological footprint.
Furthermore, the event is designed to be inclusive, with a barrier-free area featuring short paths to ensure accessibility for all visitors. This dedication to inclusivity reflects a broader effort to make the triathlon welcoming to everyone.
Incentives for Early Registration and Finisher Rewards
Interested athletes are encouraged to register promptly, as reduced starting prices are available until December 31st. After this date, registration fees will increase. Registration can be completed online at www.stadttriathlon-forchheim.de/anmelde, where further information about the event and participation conditions can also be found.
All participants who complete the course will receive a Puma sports shirt as a finisher gift, and a finisher buffet will be available to celebrate their accomplishments.
The Forchheim City Triathlon promises a day of athletic challenge, community spirit, and environmental consciousness, solidifying its position as a premier event in the region.
