On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the birth of Mstislav Rostropovich, a classical music concert “Symphony of a Life” took place in the house-museum of Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich.
As Day.Az was informed at the museum, the concert was attended by well-known figures of the Azerbaijani musical community – Chairman of the Union of Composers Frangiz Alizade, teacher of the Baku Music Academy, Honored Teacher, cellist Kamal Pashazade, film director Ziya Shikhlinsky, musician, conductor Eyyub Guliyev, the delegation of the Russian Embassy and other guests.
Advisor-envoy of the Russian embassy Pyotr Volokov donated to the museum a portrait of Mstislav Rostropovich by the artist Nathan (Natalia Lebedeva-Shevchenko). He told the guests about the creation of the picture and its plot.
Other speakers at the event – Frangiz Alizadeh, Kamal Pashazadeh and Ziya Shikhlinsky shared their memories of the maestro and their close creative ties with the brilliant musician.
Then the laureates of republican and international competitions performed works by domestic and world classics.
