IDB and IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the Bank, plan to triple direct and mobilized financing for climate action to $150 billion over the next decade.

President Goldfajn announced it at the COP28the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Dubai, and highlighted that this achievement would make the IDB one of the first multilateral development banks to meet the G20 recommendation that institutions triple climate financing.

In 2024, the IDB will guide progress in this and other key areas for the reform of the development financing architecture, when it assumes the presidency of the Groups of Heads of the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and the Regional Banks of Development (BRD).
