## Activists Target Private Jet at‌ Sylt ⁤Airport

Climate activists from the Last Generation ⁢organization are making ⁤their mark once again, this time at Sylt Airport.

Two ‌demonstrators briefly attached⁤ themselves to the ‌ground next to a‍ private ‍jet at the airport on Saturday morning. Their ‌attempt to spray paint on the⁣ aircraft was thwarted by swift intervention ⁣from airport staff.

The ⁤activists had⁤ previously ‌cut a hole ‌in the ‍airport fence to gain access.‌ One individual was apprehended by police at the fence.

Firefighters positioned two large fire engines near the private jet to shield the⁣ scene from onlookers.

The Last Generation ⁢claimed responsibility for the action, aiming⁤ to spray the words “Oil kills” on the private jet. While the attempt was unsuccessful, a spokesperson emphasized their ongoing commitment to such protests.

Flight operations at Sylt Airport⁣ remained unaffected by the incident.

The⁣ activists believe⁢ wealthy ⁢individuals, such as owners of private jets, limousines, and superyachts, disproportionately contribute ⁢to climate change. They argue that legislation is⁢ necessary to reduce these⁤ emissions.

This action echoes a similar‌ incident in June 2023, when five activists from the same group sprayed a private jet at ‍Sylt Airport with‍ orange paint and glued⁢ themselves to it.
