Soft drink company Coca-Cola has been associated with Bangladesh cricket in two ways. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced Coca-Cola as the kit sponsor and beverage partner of the Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team.

BCB announced this in a press conference at Mirpur Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday (March 18). BCB Media Committee Chairman Tanveer Ahmed Titu, BCB Women’s Department Head Habibul Bashar Sumon, Women’s Team Captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti and senior officials of Coca-Cola were present.

The company has signed on as the kit sponsor of the women’s team for three years. And for the next 2 years, Coca-Cola will be the official beverage partner in all formats and categories, including men’s, women’s and under-19 teams.

Ju-un Nahar, managing director of Coca-Cola Bangladesh, said, ‘Sports has an infinite power to unite people. This partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board provides an excellent opportunity to unite our brand with people’s passion for cricket. Also we want to encourage more women to come to the game of cricket.’

In a statement, BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, ‘We are proud to have Coca-Cola Bangladesh as our kit sponsor and official beverage partner. Our mission is to improve women’s cricket and nurture talent in all its ranks. This partnership is in line with that goal.’

Captain Jyoti thanked Coca-Cola and said that through this, various sponsor organizations will be encouraged to join the women’s team.
