While this is a niche field right now, Samsung unquestionably dominates the folding device market with 3 generations of Fold devices including the new Z Flip. Today (Wednesday) OPPO also officially joins the celebration and announces OPPO Find N, the first folding product, which will also arrive in Israel.
Foldable that can also be used with one hand
The fifth largest manufacturer in the world, the Chinese company OPPO, has unveiled OPPO Find N, which according to the company, comes after four years of research and development and six generations of prototypes.
The device’s internal display includes a 7.1-inch Samsung OLED panel, with an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz, and a screen ratio of 9: 8.4. In practice, this means you will not have to rotate the device to watch videos or play games. Remember, devices such as Samsung’s Fold are designed in a rectangular shape and make it difficult to watch movies, for example on YouTube. In its folded position, the device includes a 5.49-inch display in a familiar ratio of 18: 9, in dimensions that according to the company allow it to be used with only one hand. In fact, if not for its thickness and slightly edged edges (because of the hinge), it looks almost like any other smartphone today.

Like any folding device, there is the matter of the crease in the center of the screen, and here, at least according to the first documentation on the network, it is not noticeable – compared to, for example, Samsung’s Fold. Oppo were able to do this because the axis is internal and embedded within the screen, so there is also no space at the time of closing and the crease is almost invisible. However, we will have to test it independently and under different lighting and use conditions, to be impressed.
Inside the device is – unsurprisingly – the flagship processor of smartphones in 2021, Snapdragon 888 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In the camera array segment, the OPPO Find N comes with a 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensor; 16MP wide lens; And 13MP Telephoto lens. A selfie camera is also available to you in the folding position and the open position. However, unlike Samsung’s folding, OPPO’s device is not protected from water and dust – or at least does not officially bear such a standard.

In terms of battery, the device comes with a healthy battery with a capacity of 4,500mAh with super fast charging 33W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge, as well as wireless charging. Runlight, the official importer of OPPO in Israel, said that the OPPO Find N will arrive in Israel during 2022. The Israeli importer did not reveal the final price, but in China, the only country in the world where it is currently sold, it is sold for 7,699 yuan, ie about 3,800 NIS.
