Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu State Yoga Championship was held in Coimbatore to qualify for the Asia-level yoga competition to be held in Dubai. On May 8, the Asia-level yoga competition will be held in Dubai. Tamil Nadu State Yoga Championship held in Coimbatore for selection to participate in this yoga competition.
Competitors from various regions including Coimbatore Ozone Yoga Center, Supra Yoga Center participated in these competitions held at Coimbatore Prana Yoga Centre. Competitors ranging from three years to 60 years participated enthusiastically in this competition.
Competitions in various categories like junior, sub junior, senior, super senior were held at this yoga center. The contestants who participated in various categories performed different types of asanas including Sirasasana, Chakrasana, Triangle Asana, Padmasana and Vajrasana.

Balakrishnan, son of late Padmasree Nanammal Bhatti, founder of Ozone Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Jayalakshmi and Mohan Raj, founders of Prana Yoga Center and Subramaniam of Supra Yoga Center, who served as judges for these yoga competitions in Coimbatore, selected the best yoga practitioners.
The selected winners will participate in the Asian level competition to be held in Dubai in May. Following this, on the World Yoga Day, USA is going to participate in the International Yoga Competition to be held in Chicago, said the competition coordinators.
