Erode: While the DMK ministers and state administrators are actively campaigning in the Erode by-election, the DMK members are dissatisfied that the Congress party leaders are not showing interest and ignoring them.

Tamil Nadu Congress, the party, is a tent of leaders and has no dearth of factional strife. In the party, he is only interested in sorting out the good and the bad, saying ‘we are also a party’.

DMK plans to stand in Erode East by-election. However, on the second day of Thirumakan’s death, Tamil Nadu Congress leader Alagiri said in Vellore, ‘That block belongs to the Congress. We will compete there again’ he said.

Following this, Chief Minister Stalin reserved the seat for the Congress and urged Elangovan to contest. Before the announcement of the candidate, District Minister Muthuswamy and Election Working Committee Chairman Nehru started the DMK campaign on January 22.

On the following day, more than 20 ministers, MPs, MLAs, ex-ministers and present-day ministers are leading the campaign.

However, the DMK members are deeply dissatisfied since the state Congress president Alagiri and former leaders, Congress MLAs and MPs have not come to Bisara so far.

Regarding this, DMK officials said:

Last time, they won by 9,000 votes, this time they should win by getting more than 30,000 votes.

Money is also watered down. However, even though there are many former Tamil Nadu leaders, MPs and MLAs in the Congress party, not a single one has come for a single day of campaigning.

Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul, who have the authority to directly contact Elangovan, were nominated as candidates, but they did not show any interest.

As they have become accustomed to riding on the back of other parties in every election, none of the leaders even come forward to work for their party’s candidate.

Congress workers don’t even come with their party flag at the campaign sites.

Thus they said.
