- Pancha Merino has parted ways with TV+, effective January 16.
- The official explanation cites industry changes and internal restructuring.
- Reports suggest a disagreement among panelists may have contributed to the decision.
- Merino continues to appear on programs broadcast by Chilevisión.
Santiago, January 17, 2026 – Actress Pancha Merino is no longer with TV+, the network confirmed today, January 16, ending her run on the panel show “Tal Cual” which began in 2022. The split, while officially attributed to network restructuring, is already stirring up speculation about internal conflicts.
Merino had been a regular presence on TV+ beyond “Tal Cual,” also appearing in “Amiga date Cual” and “Pedro y Pancha.” She initially joined the “Tal Cual” panel in March 2025, alongside Pepi Velasco, Magdalena Max-Neef, Ludmila Brito, and Claudia Salas. That earlier iteration of the show was ultimately canceled following reported disagreements among its participants.
What’s the reason for this change? According to a statement from TV+, the decision to separate from Merino is due to “changes specific to the television industry and to an internal restructuring process that the channel is carrying out for the new 2026 season.” The network expressed gratitude for Merino’s contributions and wished her well in future endeavors.
The “Tal Cual” panel will continue with Paty Maldonado, Pablo Herrera, and Jordi Castell.
Controversy Surrounds Merino’s Departure
Despite the official explanation, Merino’s exit wasn’t entirely smooth sailing. Reports indicate the separation caused friction within the network, including discontent from Raquel Argandoña.
According to information published by Infama, Patricia Maldonado allegedly requested Merino’s dismissal, a move reportedly opposed by Argandoña. “The panelist who would have requested the dismissal of Pancha Merino would be Patricia Maldonado, on the other hand, Raquel Argandoña would not agree with this dismissal,” the site reported.
Fortunately for fans, Merino isn’t disappearing from television. She continues to appear on “Quantum is worth the show” and “Primer Plano,” both broadcast on Chilevisión.
