New Delhi: Netizens have registered their opposition to ‘Shaktiman’ fame actor Mukesh Khanna through social networking sites for his controversial talk about women.
‘Shaktiman’ is a TV show that aired on Doordarshan TV channel from 1997 to 2005. A total of 450 episodes. It featured actor Mukesh Khanna as the superhero Shaktiman. The series was shot in Hindi. However, it was dubbed and broadcast in various state languages of India including Tamil.
The reason for this was the overwhelming response the series received among the children who grew up in that era. Shaktiman will be on the wish list of kids who grew up in the 90s. They saw Mukesh as a superhero.
Now he has spoken controversially about women on his YouTube channel. “Women who desire sexual intercourse and ask men for it are sex workers. Because no decent woman from a civilized society would behave like this,” he said.
Netizens have objected to his comment.
“Hearing this logic of his, even the stoneless will laugh”, “Sorry Shaktiman. This time you stand on the side of injustice”, “No woman would have said that to him. Netizens protested that this is its expression.
