Copilot+ PCs Face Skepticism as Cloud AI Remains Competitive

Microsoft’s strategy resulted in a higher price point for Copilot+ PCs, but this hasn’t translated into widespread adoption, particularly among businesses. According to a research manager at IDC, enterprises have largely remained unimpressed. “It promises a certain level of AI performance, but in the last two years, enterprises have found themselves in a tough spot due to the economy and the lack of on-device AI use cases,” the research manager explained.The initial skepticism stems from a lack of clear, compelling applications for on-device AI that justify the added cost for businesses facing economic pressures.
