‘Corona Jihad of Tablighi Jamaat’; Lockdown misery to the screen, Rajkumar Rao as the hero

The trailer of Bheed directed by director Anubhav Sinha has been released on the theme of misery, division and violence caused by the lockdown announced in the country in the wake of Covid. Rajkumar Rao is the hero in the film which is made entirely in black and white. The trailer of Bheed is heart-wrenching, depicting the exercise of power, inequality and injustice during the lockdown.

After Mulk, Article 15 and Thapad, Anubhav Sinha has directed Bheed. The film tells about the dark days faced after the Prime Minister announced the lockdown in March 2020 in the context of the spread of Covid. The trailer captures Tabligh Jamaat activists being hunted down and captured in the name of Covid Jihad in Delhi. The trailer hints that the movie will hold the authorities responsible for the lockdown.

Rajkumar Rao plays the role of a police officer in the film. Actress Bhumi Pednekar will also play the role of a doctor in Bheed. The film also stars Pankaj Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, Virendra Saxena, Aditya Srivastava, Kritika Kamra and Karan Pandit. Bheed is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Singha’s Banaras Media Works. The film will release in theaters on March 24.
