Coup Day in the UEFA Nations League; Belgium, France and Croatia lose! | UEFA Nations League

Paris / Brussels: A shock defeat to world champions France, world number two Belgium and last World Cup finalists Croatia on a remarkable day in the UEFA Nations League. Denmark beat France by two goals to one. The Netherlands beat Belgium by four goals to one. Croatia lost by three goals to Austria. Hungary beat Euro Cup winners England (1–0).

France lost to Denmark after taking the lead through Karim Benzema at home. France took the lead through Benzema in the 51st minute after a goalless first half. However, a double from substitute Andreas Cornelius sealed the victory for Denmark. Cornelius’ goals came in the 68th and 88th minutes. Cornelius came on in the 60th minute.

The Netherlands had a crushing victory at home against Belgium. Holland won by four goals to one. In the first half, Holland were ahead by one goal. Romelu Lukaku’s return from injury during the match was a setback for Belgium.

Memphis Depay’s double scored the key to Holland’s victory. Depay’s goals came in the 51st and 65th minutes. The first goal was scored by Bergwin in the 40th minute. Dumfries (61) scored another goal. Belgium’s consolation goal was scored by Michi Batshuai. The goal was scored in the third minute of injury time.
