Deputy Lucinha (PSD)

State deputy Lúcia Helena Pinto de Barros, known as Lucinha (PSD), was removed from office by order of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice. The parliamentarian is also the target of searches by Operation Baptism, launched by the Federal Police (PF) this Monday (18).

According to investigations, the deputy is involved with Luis Antônio da Silva Braga’s militia politician, Zinho, who has strong influence in the Campo Grande and Santa Cruz region, in the West Zone.

The investigations reveal that Lucinha is called “godmother” by Zinho’s paramilitaries, who remains at large.

Lucinha is also prohibited from attending the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj). Furthermore, her employee, Ariane de Afonso Lima, is also the target of searches.

Eight search and seizure warrants were issued against the deputy. Lucinha’s office in Alerj, in the center of Rio, and her house in Campo Grande, are some of the addresses.

Lucinha is suspected of interfering with public security in Rio to release militiamen arrested in the act; benefit public transport using vans under militia command; trying to change the command of the PM battalion in Santa Cruz, an area commanded by Zinho; leak information about police operations.
