Portugal football captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been honored with the FIFA Special The Best Award for his achievement of scoring the most goals in international football.
The FIFA Awards Ceremony for Footballers concluded yesterday. Polish captain Robert Lewandowski has been named the World Player of the Year for 2021. He plays for Bayern Munich and has scored 41 goals for his team in the 2020-2021 Bundesliga season.
He also overtook leading players Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah to win the award. Robert Lewandowski was named FIFA Player of the Year in the 2020 category. He has now overtaken Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah to snatch the title of Best Player.
Similarly, in the women’s category, Barcelona’s Alexia Poutius won the FIFA Player of the Year 2021 award. Winning the title in the Women’s Champions League, she has been an unwavering star of Barcelona. He is also the recipient of last year’s Ballon d’Or.
Following this, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed the record of the Iranian player Ali Dain who has scored the most goals internationally. FIFA has honored him with a special award. Christian Sinclair of Canada also received a special award in the women’s category.
