Bindu Padmanabhan, a native of Cherthala Katakrapalli Alungal, who went missing almost nine years ago, remains an unanswered question. Even though the police, special investigation teams and later the crime branch investigated, Bindu Padmanabhan could not be found alive or dead.
The police have registered five cases in the incident. 11 people were made accused. All of them were arrested and released on bail. The auto driver, who was called for questioning by the police, was found hanging inside the house. The investigation, which lasted for two months, was finally handed over to the crime branch. Even when they say that the investigation is going on, it seems to have stopped. Sebastian, a native of Pallipuram and a property broker, who was included as the main accused in the case, said that he met Bindu in 2017, but there was no confirmation.
Common complaint of 2017
On September 16, 2017, her brother Praveen, who was in Italy, lodged a complaint with the Home Secretary about her sister’s disappearance. The complaint showed that there was no information about the sister after 2013. After Praveen went to Italy, he was not close to his sister. They were left alone after their parents died.
Bindu’s assets, which were worth crores of rupees, were in the hands of many people and there was no information about them. This is why the brother came home and filed a complaint. Of these, the land deal in Edapalli is the most controversial. Complaints were filed against Sebastian, a native of Pallipuram, according to the documents.
Bindu’s fake liberation is crucial
The crucial point in the investigation was that the land in the name of Bindu worth crores in Edapalli was sold to Sebastian Muktyar. The police found that Muktyar had forged it. Instead of Bindu’s photo, Mini (Jaya), a resident of Cherthala Madakkal, has a photo and forged signature in the transactions. Cases related to this are pending today. Even this process was not complete.

Inquiries that led nowhere
Even though all the accused including Sebastian have been arrested, there is no information about Bindu alone. Although the police concluded that there was no possibility of him being alive, he could not be found dead. There has been no follow-up since the riots and arrests in 2018.
