Based on Amarar Kalki’s famous novel Ponniin Selvan, the film Ponniin Selvan is a grandiose take on the history of the Chola kings who ruled Thanjavur.

In this situation, a legal notice has been sent to the director Mani Ratnam and others saying that historical facts have been hidden in Ponni’s movie Selvan which has caused a shock.
In this notice sent by Selvam from Korukuppettai, Chennai, the actor Vikram, who played the role of Aditya Karigalan in Ponni’s Selvan, has a name on his forehead while there is no custom of naming in the Chola dynasty, and accused director Mani Ratnam of hiding history.
Similarly, he has requested to screen the film before releasing it, as one can know how much history is hidden by watching the film.
In the lawyer’s notice, it has been stated that legal action will be taken if the film is released without showing it to them, and they want to know whether history has been hidden in Ponniin Selvam.
