The news about the operation of the little Cuban girl Amanda Lemus, who suffers from bile duct atresia, was known through social networks.

The minor who has earned the affection of all Cubans finally underwent surgery with a liver transplant this Friday at the La Paz Hospital in Madrid. The organ donor was her father.

Activist Yamilka Lafita (Lara Crofs) revealed on her Facebook profile that the minor underwent surgery and went very well.

“Amanda just left the room, everything went well! We did it,” reads the publication.

To offer more details about the little girl’s surgery, the activist went live on Facebook to announce that the medical team had met with the girl’s mother to give her the good news.

“Amanda just came out of the operation very well, it is the best news we have had in so long. Amanda is going to save herself. And if Amanda was saved, how many more things can we not save?” said Crosf.

It is worth remembering that Amanda’s father, Emmanuel Lemus, was the donor, for which he previously underwent surgery to remove a portion of his liver that will be transplanted to his daughter.

Even though the little girl has already undergone surgery, this family still needs help, which is why the campaign on the Gofundme digital platform remains open to collect funds from those who wish to donate.

“We achieved it, after more than 45 days of campaigning day and night, of complaints, of updates, of many setbacks, of repression. To see how a little girl of only two years old was languishing in the face of the despair of her parents, family, and friends,” she said.
