«Culture will change the world», Anna Safroncik testimonial of the Tulipani di Seta Nera Festival

The presentation of the works selected to compete for the Rai Cinema Channel Sorriso Award as part of the 15th edition of the “TULI DI SETA NERA” International Social Film Festival opened with a minute of silence in honor of the victims of the war, which saw how testimonial the actress of Ukrainian origin Anna Safroncik and the actor Neri Marcoré. On Friday morning, at the Casa del Cinema in Rome, there were Diego Righini and Paola Tassone (respectively President and Artistic Director of the Festival), Paolo Del Brocco (CEO of Rai Cinema), Giovanni Parapini (Rai Director for Social Affairs) and Carlo Rodomonti ( Strategic and digital manager of Rai Cinema). Chaired by Diego Righini and created by the social promotion association “Università Cerca Lavoro”, based on an idea by Paola Tassone, the Festival will take place from 5 to 8 May in Rome, at The Space in Piazza della Repubblica. Among the protagonists of the works selected in the various sections, faces known to the general public such as Leo Gullotta, Massimo Dapporto, Raimondo Todaro and the singer-songwriter Elisa. 400 works entered the competition, coming from all over Italy and abroad, including 260 short films, 63 documentaries, 37 digital series and 40 video clips. Specifically, 50 works received from EU and non-EU countries, namely Spain, Australia, Argentina, France, Brazil, Colombia, Belgium, Germany, Iran and Ukraine. In two cases the productions are hybrid (Italian-Tanzanese, Italian-Spanish and Italian-Chinese). 13 works of these works came directly from Turkey. In the Short Films section, which sees Paola Tassone as artistic director, 60 works have been selected for the prize awarded by the web public: in first place Lazio, with 16 works in competition, followed by Sicily (10), Calabria (4) Campania and Piedmont (3), Lombardy, Liguria, Umbria and Tuscany (2), Trentino Alto Adige, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Puglia, Sardinia and Basilicata (1) and various mixed productions between 2 regions. Many works received for the different categories at the International Section, directed by Dundar Kesapli, which sees Spain in the lead, present with 5 works, followed by Turkey (3) and Argentina (1). Also presented the works selected for the other sections in the competition. For the Documentaries section (16), which sees Gianfranco Pannone as artistic director, Sicily in the lead with 4 works in competition, followed by Campania (3), Emilia Romagna, Sardinia and Spain (2), Lazio, Piedmont and Ukraine (1) . In the #SocialClip section (16), directed by Grazia Di Michele, the Lazio region wins the podium, with 8 selected works, followed by Lombardy (3), Tuscany (2), Umbria, Marche and Emilia Romagna (1). In the Digital Series section (10), directed by Janet De Nardis, the Lombardy region stood out, with 3 selected works, followed by Lazio (2) and Campania (1). Argentina, Germany, Belgium and Australia also enter the competition, with 1 digital series each. The works chosen for the 4 sections in competition will be visible starting from April on the platform created by Rai Cinema Channel in collaboration with Rai per il Sociale, at the page www.tulipanidisetanera.rai.it The work that will obtain the greatest number of views for their section will receive the prestigious Rai Cinema Channel Smile Award. The selected works are in the formats of short film, documentary, music clip and digital series, on the theme of social, i.e. the cinematographic story of diversity, fragility and uniqueness of people and places, with the aim of enhancing social themes. such as the integration, protection, rights and enhancement of every single person or place. Institutional partners of the event, which enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, Min. Labor and Social Policies, Min. Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Min. For Disabilities and the Min. For Ecological Transition, are: INAIL, ENIT, ANMIL, ASVIS, ENS, ALLIANCE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, WORLD FOOD PROGRAM and UNIVERDE Foundation.
