Cyber criminals are constantly changing their approaches to breach systems and steal data, and small businesses are particularly vulnerable. Fortunately, entrepreneurs and startups will have an opportunity to bolster their defenses this Thursday, January 15, during a free webinar hosted by the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network.
Panel to Discuss Current Scams and Best Practices
The webinar, titled “Current Cybersecurity Threats: Panel Discussion,” will run from noon to 12:30 p.m. and feature insights from Paul Johnson, Jim Drever, and Laura Baker. Registration is free and available here.
During the session, the panel will delve into the most current scams targeting small businesses and outline best practices for avoiding hackers and scammers. The discussion aims to keep business owners informed and safe in the increasingly complex online landscape.
Expert Insights from Wyoming Leaders
Paul Johnson serves as the cybersecurity for small business program manager for the Wyoming SBDC Network. Jim Drever is the associate state director for the Wyoming SBDC Network and a certified ethical hacker, bringing a unique perspective to the discussion. Laura Baker is the executive director of CyberWyoming.
The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent, or exit their business. The network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
