The Barcelona Court has decided to provisionally release the former FC Barcelona player, Dani Alves, on bail of one million euros, while he awaits confirmation of the sentence that sentences him to four and a half years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub.
In its ruling, the Barcelona Court determined the release of the 40-year-old footballer upon payment of a bail of 1,000,000 euros. In addition, his Spanish and Brazilian passports will be revoked, and he is ordered to stay away from the victim of the sexual assault, for which he was convicted.
This release announcement comes amid the Prosecutor’s Office’s request to increase the prison sentence from four to nine years, arguing that Alves has not shown a significant degree of remorse for the rape committed in December 2022 in a nightclub bathroom. .
