The court in Barcelona sentenced Dani Alves to no less than four years and six months in prison for the sexual assault of a girl in a night club in the city in December 2022.

However, last Tuesday, the court held a hearing, and after the arguments presented, they granted the former right-back a temporary release on the condition that he pay a bond of around one million euros.

Many speculations arose regarding the source of the money from which he would obtain the release, one of which was that Neymar’s father was going to offer him this money, but the relationship between the two broke down and Alves was unable to post the bail in time and had to stay in jail for at least the weekend.

According to ‘Celebrity Net Worth’, the Brazilian has a net worth of 55 million euros, which comes from his salary as a footballer in various clubs, his investments and advertising and sponsorship contracts. However, Alves faces a problem, as his accounts in Brazil are blocked due to problems with Dinora Santana, his ex-wife, and as of December 31, 2023, he had a negative balance of €20,000. In Spain he has two accounts: one with no balance and another with 51,000 euros.

Although the Brazilian is waiting to collect €9.2 million from the treasury, due to discrepancies that were eventually resolved in his favor, he has not yet received the amount, and will owe €645,000 to the tax agency.
