Dax goes on a roller coaster ride – Orsted shares crash and burden the energy industry

Dusseldorf The rollercoaster ride on the German stock market shows that the Dax is currently looking for a direction: After a price slide in morning trading by around 160 points to a daily low of 15,823 points, the leading index went back on a recovery course. Shortly before the market closed, it was only just under 0.2 percent down at 15,892 points.

The reason for the significant drop in the morning may have been the inflation data already published in some federal states. They had suggested that the longed-for significant drop in inflation might not materialize in August.

However, the situation calmed down again with the publication of inflation data for the whole of Germany. Although the rate weakened again in August, it was still slightly above expectations. According to the first estimate, goods and services cost an average of 6.1 percent more than a year earlier.
