Kasargod: A shop was closed in Cheruvathur after a student died of food poisoning after eating shawarma. Panchayat president CV Prameela told Manorama News that the shop in Cheruvathur was closed. The president said inspections would continue at other stores.
Devananda (16), a resident of Karivellur, Kannur, died of food poisoning after consuming shawarma. Devananda died while undergoing treatment at the Kanhangad District Hospital. Fourteen people with food poisoning are being treated at various hospitals. They will be shifted to the district hospital
