PlayStation Plus lineup Changes: January 2026 Games Arrive as December Titles Depart
PlayStation Plus subscribers, take note: Sony is set to refresh its game library in January 2026, simultaneously adding new titles and removing those from December 2025. Gamers who haven’t yet claimed the current offerings are urged to do so quickly, as time is running out.
Recently,Sony unveiled the new essential titles available to all PlayStation Plus subscription tiers starting January 6,2026. As is standard practice, the arrival of these new games coincides with the removal of December’s selections. Once added to a user’s library, these games remain accessible for download and play provided that an active PlayStation Plus subscription is maintained.
December’s selection stood out for offering five games instead of the usual three, providing subscribers with an expanded range of options. Here’s a detailed look at the games departing the service:

Following the launch of the January Essential titles, Sony will unveil the new additions to the Extra and Premium tiers. According to tradition,this proclamation is scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month,likely falling on January 14,2026,around 5:30 p.m.
The new Extra and Premium games will then become available the following Tuesday, January 20, 2026, around 10 a.m. As with the Essential tier, the activation of these new titles will trigger the removal of select games from the existing library.
Subscribers are advised not to delay playing “Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name,” as it is among the titles slated for removal.
This cycle of adding and removing games is a standard practice for PlayStation Plus, designed to keep the library fresh and encourage continued subscriptions.
