Classes in tutoring schools and foreign language centers will normally be held on Tuesday, the day of the Feast of the Three Hierarchs, because this holiday is abolished by ministerial decision.
In more detail, with a ministerial decision signed by the Deputy Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Zetta Makris, the religious holiday of the Three Hierarchs was officially abolished as a holiday for tutoring schools and foreign language centers.
It is recalled that for schools it was no longer considered a holiday from 2020 and classes are held normally on January 30. Essentially, the signing of the decision abolishes the holiday from education.
Specifically, as stated in a statement by the Ministry of Education:
The Deputy Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Zetta M. Makri, signed the decision no. 8778/Ν1/26-01-2024 which amends the decision no. 219434/Α5/21.12.2016 (Β΄ 4212) with subject: “Vacation days and holidays of foreign language schools and centers”.
With the specific ministerial decision, only the religious feast of the Three Hierarchs for tutoring schools and foreign language centers is abolished from point II of element B. HOLIDAYS.
For the rest, the above Ministerial Decision applies. This decision is valid from its publication. The decision in question has been sent to the National Printing Office for publication.
