The interest of Russians in repairing old iPhones can be explained by several reasons, says Sergei Vilyanov, an analyst at the Fintech Lab accelerator. “Firstly, in the last 2-3 years, changes in new iPhone models have been insignificant and many users do not see objective reasons to change their device, but prefer to tidy up the existing one. Secondly, buying a new iPhone has now turned from a pleasant adventure into a rather annoying undertaking. It will not be possible to transfer everything as before to a new device: the applications of many banks, state airlines, etc. are not transferred automatically. They can be installed, but you either have to have specific skills or turn to a specialist for money,” he believes.
