Development and management of the Oukaïmden ski resort entrusted to the Louka Park/STEM Consortium

by time news

The Oukaïmden ski resort would soon be able to reconnect with a glorious past to project itself into a better future.
And for good reason. The call for tenders launched by the Moroccan Society of Tourist Engineering (SMIT Morocco) concerning the development and management of the said station has devoted a consortium of two companies, one French, STEM International, and the other Moroccan Louka Park whose offer proved conclusive in all respects.
The STEM Group, which has carried out, and continues to do so, management and assistance services in various mountain resorts is able to claim a particularly eloquent record.
Partner of the French team of speed skiing, as a reminder, it ensures in France the integral management of the ski resort of Gavarnie-Gédre, a village listed as a double world heritage site by Unesco, as well as the resort of Montagne du Hautacom (stage of the Tour de France in 2022, i.e. for the 6th times), or even as a service provider for the Laguiole resort for 4 years…
STEM also showcased its know-how internationally.
In support of ski lifts, STEM is engaged until 2032 in Kazakhstan, at the Shymbulak resort.
In project assistance, STEM intervened in 2022 with the Palatak station in Croatia and Bovec in Slovenia.
It has also extended its activity in Spain with the takeover of the management of the cable cars of the Natural Park of Cabarceno in Santander.
STEM’s field of action includes, among other things, the management of slopes and production snow, as well as leisure activities (four seasons), rental and sales shops, all catering activities and the school. ski…
This association between Louka Park is all the more interesting and promising in that it makes the transfer of know-how and skills a priority.
Louka Park, the other party in this consortium, is a Moroccan-Moroccan company, set up by two names for whom skiing has no secrets for having practiced or managed it at the highest level. They have also been able to distinguish themselves in entrepreneurship, and in the realization of major projects related to this sport.
This is Jaâfar Naït Lhou, a construction engineer graduated from Germany and able to rely on a long and rich experience of twenty years spent in this country.
He is, as a reminder, the only Moroccan to have set up a ski resort, that of Michelifen in this case, in 2016-2017.
As he was also at the origin of recognized studies concerning artificial snowmaking and the development of ski resorts in the Middle Atlas (Jbel Hebri in particular), or even the construction of chairlifts and the development of slopes in Michelifen…
The list is not exhaustive for the one who also, as a reminder, represented Morocco at the Olympic Games in Alberville in 1992.
Abdenbi Lerhnane, for his part, has been president for years of one of the leading national ski clubs, “Le ski club Ifrane”…
His mandate at the head of the Royal Moroccan Federation will have been marked by a very eloquent record. Let us mention, in this regard, the organization of numerous Moroccan championships in Slalom and Giant Slalom skiing, Throne Cup and club competitions or the organization of several training courses for skiers and instructors in alpine skiing or for the benefit of climbers and climbing trainers, not to mention the many trail races that aroused particular enthusiasm…
An assessment enriched by events of international scope such as the organization of the Meeting of the Ski Club of Journalists (SCIJ) with the participation of no less than 33 countries, participation in various world championships in skiing and skiing mountaineering, various participations in the Congresses of the International Ski Federation (FIS).

A report enriched by international events such as the organization of the Meeting of the Ski Club of Journalists (SCIJ) with the participation of no less than 33 countries,
participation in various world championships in skiing and ski mountaineering, various participations in the Congresses of the International Ski Federation (FIS).
Abdenbi Lerhenane has actively contributed as project manager to the certification of ski slopes by the International Ski Federation in collaboration with Cetursa Sierra Nevada, namely: Oukaimeden, Michelifen and Hebri slopes.
Abdenbi Lerhenane also participated in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games as Chef de Mission.
Entrusting the development and management of the Oukaimeden station to a consortium of recognized international and Moroccan experts will allow the medium and long term the transmission of know-how to local skills with the objective of developing new mountain stations one hundred percent cent made in Morocco as strongly recommended in the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI may God glorify him.
