Tamil cinema’s leading actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth announced in January that they were amicably separating after 19 years of marriage. The announcement of Dhanush-Aishwarya’s breakup came as a shock to the fans and the film industry.
In a statement released by Dhanush and Aishwarya, they said, “We have been together for 18 years as friends, as a couple, as parents and as well-wishers. Our journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment and adaptation.
Today we stand where our paths part.. Dhanush and I have decided to separate as a couple and take time to understand each other better.
Please respect our decision and give us the privacy we need to deal with this,” the duo said.
After Dhanush and Aishwarya announced their separation, there were reports that Aishwarya’s father, actor Rajinikanth, made peace between the two and said that they should live together, and both accepted it and agreed to live together again. Reports also surfaced that both of them told Rajini that they will not go for divorce from now on.
In this case, Dhanush’s father and director Kasthuri Raja has said that there is no such fight between Dhanush and Aishwarya. Kasthuri Raja, in a recent interview with Ananda Vikatan, said that he stays away from the issue and does not interfere or influence his sons’ decisions in their personal lives. When asked about some reports of a reconciliation between Dhanush and Aishwarya, Kasthuri Raja said, I don’t know.
“My wife and I can live well even without the support of our children. We want them to be happy. Nothing else. Anything that interferes with their happiness is a problem for us. If they are happy, we are also happy,” said Kasthuri Raja.
Recently, Dhanush – Aishwarya made a public appearance as parents attending a school function for their son’s yatra. The event where the two attended together attracted everyone’s attention. Also, a photo of the two posing with their friends and family at the event is going viral.
