Malyukov died on December 19 at two o’clock in the morning. Before contracting the coronavirus, the director was seriously ill for two years, Bondarchuk said. His family does not plan to say goodbye “because of the situation with the coronavirus,” the place of the funeral has not yet been determined.

Andrey Malyukov was born on January 6, 1948. In 1971 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK, then worked as an assistant to director Yuri Ozerov on the set of the epic “Liberation”. In 1974 Malyukov became the production director of the Mosfilm film studio.
