Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that it has received investment requests to establish poultry projects, while indicating the intention to establish large projects in this sector.

Director General of the Ministry’s Agricultural Investments Department, Iyad Al-Bulani, told the (INA), “There are agricultural investment opportunities announced in all governorates,” indicating that “what the investor in the agricultural sector is thinking about is achieving the production of a kilo of meat or chicken at a lower cost than the imported one.” Therefore, the cost of fuel and feed needs to be lower so that there is no burden on the consumer.”
He added, “The mission of the Ministry of Agriculture is to regulate. In the surplus season, imports are cut off, and in the deficit season, imports are opened,” noting that “the government has taken measures coinciding with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan at the level of controlling imports and controlling exports during the seasons through the agricultural calendar, as well as through dealing with “Positively with every variable that occurs, whether at the level of livestock meat, at the level of poultry meat, or at the level of eggs.”
He added, “There are investment requests to establish large stations through the Investment Department, and now they are in the process of procedures,” pointing out that “the Prime Minister opened, months ago, the largest poultry project in Iraq, with an area of ​​more than 280 thousand dunums, and it includes four poultry projects, a slaughterhouse, and a feed factory.” .
He stated that “there are small poultry projects in addition to the trend towards large projects in this sector.”
