The recordings of “ Nosso Lar 2 — Os Mensageiros ”, which hits theaters this Thursday, had a series of mysterious cases — from a man who disappeared to an inexplicable smell of perfume on the set. In an interview, Wagner de Assis talks about the episodes in the film with Edson Celulari and Fernanda Rodrigues in the cast.

One of the cases told by the film’s director, Wagner de Assis, is about an elderly man who presented himself at the entrance to the film set and asked to speak to him. The person responsible for the set promised to contact the director to pass on the message, and then…
— The plateau leader, Alex, wanted to radio. The moment he bent down to look at the radio and tune in to the direction channel, he looked up: the man disappeared in front of him — says Wagner de Assis. — He was terrified, thinking that that man had run towards me. He ran the entire film set and never saw this man again. For him, who wasn’t used to it, it was quite scary.
The director reports another curious case, this time with the testimonies of the actors who participated in the recordings, Edson Celulari and Fernanda Rodrigues.
— We were filming on a set that was a spiritist center. It was closed and the entire cast was inside the set. No one entered, no one left. And they began to smell a very strong scent of roses. That day, there was the presence of a medium visiting the location, Nelson Martins Soares, who is a friend of mine, a materialization medium. I looked at him. He started laughing and said: “We have visitors.”
Strange cases in ‘Our Home 2’: man disappears and perfume on set
Wagner is already used to this climate during recordings. In addition to “Meu Lar”, from 2010, he also has other features of the genre on his resume, such as “Kardec” and the documentary “Chico para Semper”, from 2022. In November, he started recording “As Irmãs Fox”, which tells the story of three Americans who participated in the origins of “modern Western spiritualism”.
Wagner says that the sequel to “ Nosso Lar ” should have been released earlier. There were delays caused by the Fox merger with Disney, financing issues and even the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, the director believes that the film will hit the screens at the appropriate time. Initially, the launch would take place on August 31st of last year. But could this new delay be to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the release of André Luiz’s first book written by Chico Xavier?
— Maybe so, but maybe that’s a good synchronicity. We had this information, but not as a preponderant information for the film’s premiere. I think the debut depends on those classic factors of analyzing the market, looking at other launches, our product being fully ready. I think it’s more on that side. It became an Aquarian film.

Wagner promises to continue the André Luiz series with at least three more features. “ Nosso Lar 2 – Os Mensageiros ” is produced by Cinética Filmes and co-produced and distributed by Star.
— When I read the books, I knew they were cinematographic, in addition to being great literary products. The copyrights were acquired in 2005, including “ Nosso Lar – Os Mensageiros ” and some other books in the series that we will turn into a film. I want to work on (versions) 3, 4 and 5. But the third, for sure, will come soon.
