The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) informs that, during the summer vacation period, discounts of 25% and 50% will be in force for teachers and students, respectively, who wish to travel by federal passenger motor transport or use the rail service .
The rate reductions will be applied throughout the holiday cycle set by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), which will end on August 27, 2023.
Reductions in travel costs must be granted by railway service providers in their regular interurban modality and by federal passenger motor transport permit holders in first class and economic services.
Teachers and students will have to prove their character by showing the corresponding valid credential or, failing that, through a certificate with the seal of the school, name and photograph of the holder and, where appropriate, account number. or registration.
The credentials with which they can accredit the right to the discount will be exclusively from the following educational institutions: those integrated into the education systems of the SEP; addresses or departments of education in the federal entities; National Autonomous University of Mexico; National Polytechnic Institute; universities throughout the Republic; Free Schools of Law, Commerce and Homeopathy; College of Bachelors; and schools incorporated to those mentioned above.
Complaints regarding rail rates must be submitted to the Rail Transport Regulatory Agency; and in the case of levels of collection of motor transport, before the General Directorate of Federal Motor Transport.
Failing that, and for both cases, before the Federal Auto Transport Department of the SICT Center that corresponds to the user’s address.
