How to inform or communicate without causing harm, how to inform or communicate about the virtues of a product without making this virtue a source of abuse or excess for the consumer, how to reconcile advertising and health, etc.? These are all questions which were the subject of a workshop with the aim of giving answers to press owners to guide them in the distribution and especially the choice of food advertisements.

As such, two communications will be made. The first communication will concern the regulatory framework for advertising in Burkina Faso, and the second will concern the risks linked to the consumption of products (food, medicines, so-called well-being products).

The president of the CSC, Abdoulazize Bamogo indicated that despite the health damage that could result, products without authorization or control are still subject to advertisements. “ We noticed that’il There are many products whose excessive consumption can cause health problems but they are promoted in the media as if they must be taken in an accentuated manner when too much consumption can cause health problems.

We also noticed that there are certain products that should not be contained in certain consumer products. Unfortunately, checks have shown that many products on the market contain substances that are harmfuls, which are either prohibited and whose the content, the limit threshold is exceeded. We should not promote it through the media otherwise we create a public health problem “, he explained.
