After the tragic event that claimed the lives of four soldiers in Segovia, Antioquia, the president issued a forceful statement regarding the Gulf Clan, making it clear that there will be no truce for illegal groups that threaten the security and stability of the country.
The president emphasized that the Clan del Golfo is not in any negotiation process with the government. He stressed that the State’s action will focus on dismantling power structures linked to illicit activities, especially in the area of illegal economies such as gold and cocaine.
«If the Gulf Clan is not able to dismantle its groups as we have requested, they will simply be destroyed by the State«the president firmly warned, underlining the government’s determination to combat the illicit economy that finances criminal groups.

The president also addressed concerns about possible threats to the country’s democratic stability.differentiating between the republican right and those sectors that seek to undermine the fundamental pillars of Colombian democracy.
“One thing is the Republican right, which accepts the rules of democracy, and another is those who want to destroy the Constitution of ’91,” declared the president, highlighting the importance of respect for democratic institutions.
Faced with the threat of what could be considered a soft coup, the president called for national unity and reaffirmed his commitment to peace and social justice. “The majority of Colombia today votes for peace and votes for social justice,” she concluded, urging the population to remain united in the defense of democratic values and the rule of law.
