Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. On the initiative of Atiqul Islam, Iftar has been organized for the low-income people throughout the month of Ramadan. It has been organized in front of Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan of the capital.

The Mayor of DNCC visited the Iftar distribution program on the third day of the event on Thursday (March 14). Md. Atiqul Islam arrived there shortly before Iftar and exchanged blessings with the underprivileged people and distributed Iftar among them.

At that time, Mayor Atiqul Islam said, ‘I have taken this initiative thinking about people with limited income. Iftar will be available here throughout the month of Ramadan. Although this is not an iftar party, it is only for low income people. However, in addition to low-income people who cannot reach home due to traffic jams, or return home late due to work, they can come and have Iftar here.’

The mayor also said, ‘This is a small effort to put a smile on the faces of the low income and underprivileged people. Very happy and enjoyable event. In the month of Ramadan, there will be a request to everyone, whether it is an institution or an individual, to stand by the common people.

In response to the questions of the journalists, the mayor said, ‘During Ramadan, the executive officers and magistrates of 10 regions of DNCC are supervising the market to control the price of daily commodities. Besides, digital display boards have been installed in six markets of DNCC to display the fixed price list of products. Buyers can buy the necessary products by looking at the price list set by the government.
