double sales and buy two companies

by time news

BarcelonaInflation and the obstacles related to the energy market do not disturb, for the time being, the evolution of Wallbox. However, the company of chargers for the electric car presented this Wednesday some results that, in the revenue section, more than double those recorded in the second quarter of 2021. From April to June this year, the group invoiced 39.5 million euros, 124% more than last year, and sold nearly 64,000 of its chargers. Wallbox’s investor pace, however, explains that their accounts are closing again with red numbers. In the second quarter it lost 37 million euros, a figure that does not worry its financial director, Jordi Lainz. “The business plan envisages profitability from 2024 with ebitda [el resultat després d’impostos, amortitzacions i interessos] positive”, he assured in a press conference.

In fact, the group has also announced the purchase of two companies to continue growing, now that its workforce already exceeds 1,100 workers. Wallbox will be the new owner of Coil, an electric vehicle charger installation company born in the United States, as well as Ares Electronics, a Spanish group engaged in the assembly and design of circuit boards printed Both operations have been carried out in 70% with Wallbox shares and the Catalan company has avoided specifying the amount of the acquisitions. Its CEO and co-founder, Enric Asunción, has limited himself to pointing out that these additions will contribute to expanding its production capacity and, therefore, will also have a positive impact on sales for next year.

Next month, Wallbox will open its new factory in Arlington (Texas), with a capacity to produce 250,000 chargers for the electric car. In this sense, its general manager in the United States, Douglas Alfaro, has highlighted the importance of the plan for subsidies for electric vehicles and recharging launched by the administration of this country and which includes the deployment of a network of 500,000 points recharging until 2030 and incentives to purchase vehicles. In addition, Wallbox also expects to benefit from agreements with new partners in the automotive industry such as Japanese manufacturer Nissan, to provide chargers and recharging facilities to buyers of the new Ariya in the US.

For the whole of 2022, Wallbox expects to receive between 175 and 195 million euros, which would mean an interannual growth of between 145% and 170%.
