DP World Group to Increase Container Handling Capacity by 7.6 Million TEU in 2022 Through Global Investments

DP World Group intends to add about 7.6 million TEU of container handling capacity during this year. This increase will be done through its investment portfolio worldwide.

According to reports, the total capacity of the group from Dubai will rise to 102.6 million TEU by the end of 2024, compared to 95 million TEU at the end of 2023. The main expansion operations this year will include the Saudi port of Jeddah which will add about 1 million TEU to the group, London Gateway with about 900,000 TEU, in addition to Busan in South Korea and Cochin in India with about 400,000 TEU each. The port of Sukhna in Egypt and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania will add to the group from Dubai a handling capacity of about 300,000 containers each.

DP World Group announced earlier this year that it plans to invest about 7.34 billion dirhams (about $2 billion) in seven different markets this year.
