Castlebar, Co. Mayo – Eoin, a resident of Foxfield, Castlebar, and formerly of Snugboro, has died after a courageous battle with illness, his family announced today, November 26, 2023.

A Community Mourns the Loss of Eoin

The Castlebar community is reeling from the passing of Eoin, remembered for his dignity and bravery throughout his illness.

• Eoin passed away peacefully at the Mayo Hospice, surrounded by loved ones.
• He was predeceased by his father, Paddy.
• Family and friends will have opportunities to pay their respects at the Coady Funeral Home and the family home.
• A Requiem Mass will be held at The Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, followed by burial at Castlebar new cemetery.

Eoin died in the loving care of the Mayo Hospice, his family at his side. He is deeply mourned by his mother, Marian; sister, Miriam; brother, Niall; nephew and godson, Louis; brother-in-law, Jack; Niall’s partner, Lynne; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and a wide circle of friends.

What support is available for the family? Family flowers are requested, with donations gratefully accepted for the Mayo Hospice in Eoin’s memory.

What arrangements have been made to honor Eoin’s life? Eoin will repose at The Coady Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Monday from 5:30pm to 7pm, with removal to the family home in Snugboro afterward. Reposing will continue at his family home (F23 P 942) on Tuesday between 2 and 7 o’clock for friends and family friends.

Removal from the family home will take place on Wednesday at 11 o’clock to The Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. The family requests privacy at all other times. Following the Mass, Eoin will be laid to rest at Castlebar new cemetery.
