International Standard University (ISU) Vice-Chancellor re-appointed Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan. The President and Chancellor of the University for the next four years. Sahabuddin appointed him to this post.

It is said in the notification, according to section 31 (1) of the private university law, 2010, with the approval of the president and the chancellor of the university, Dr. Abdul Awal Khan was appointed as Vice-Chancellor.

It further states that his term of appointment as Vice Chancellor will be 4 years from the date of joining. However, the President and the Chancellor can cancel this appointment order at any time if necessary. He shall be entitled to the salary and allowances fixed by the University authorities and shall enjoy other benefits pertaining to the post. He will perform duties as per the Private Universities Act, 2010.

Professor Dr. Khan was born in 1948 in Saturia village under Rajapur Thana of Jhalkathi district. In 1968, he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Management Department of Dhaka University and a Master of Commerce degree in 1970.

He joined Chittagong University as a lecturer in Management Department in 1973. In 1987, Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan received his Ph.D. After that, he worked as a professor in Chittagong University till 1996.

From June 1997 to July 2000, he served as Professor and Dean of the School of Business, Bangladesh Open University. Apart from this, he has taught for more than 20 years as a dean in various private universities.
