The tenure of Ram Nath Kovind, the 14th President of India, from the state of Uttar Pradesh, ends today. Following this, the election for the 15th President of the Republic was held on the 18th.
In this, on behalf of the National Democratic Alliance ruling at the Centre, former Jharkhand State Tirelapathi Murmu from Odisha State, former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha on behalf of the opposition parties including Congress, DMK and Trinamool Congress contested.
At the end of the counting of votes held on the 21st, Thirelapathi Murmu won as the new President of the country. Following this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National BJP President JP Natta and others personally met and congratulated Thirelapathi Murmu who won the presidential election.
In this case, Thirelapathi Murmu is going to take office as the 15th President of the country tomorrow in the central complex of the Parliament. Supreme Court Chief Justice NV Ramana is going to administer the oath of office to him.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other BJP-ruled state chief ministers are expected to attend the event. Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, heavy police security has been deployed around the Parliament complex.

10:03 – Convoy reaches Parliament House at Parliament Gate No. 5; Thirelapathi Murmu, Ram Nath Kovind, along with the Vice President and Prime Minister, will go to the Central Hall.
